Eight Chinese Nationals Indicted Federally For 'Massive' Pot Growing Scheme

Eight Chinese nationals accused of operating a massive indoor marijuana growing operation in Pierce and Brantley counties are now facing federal indictments.

United States Attorney Jill Steinberg for the Southern District of Georgia announced Tuesday that all eight defendants are facing charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute and possession with intent to distribute more than 1,000 marijuana plants.

The defendants are 54-year-old Hiawen Huang, 61-year-old Yim Hung Yuen, 35-year-old Chen Hui Shu, 34-year-old Jen Peng Ma, 64-year-old Zhu Sheng Bing, 42-year-old Wei Sheng Deng, 67-year-old Lecai Huang and 52-year-old Zhi Yong Ma.
