After 37 years in Law Enforcement and serving the citizens in Fulton County and the City of Johns Creek, I wanted to continue to serve in another capacity, serving is in my DNA.

Being on city council would be a way for me to give back to the community that has supported and encouraged me and my family for the past nineteen years.  My experience and expertise in corporate leadership, governance, project management, operations, finance, engineering, and community-based leadership will ensure that key decisions are made to encourage growth and a long-term plan for the entire community.

I would like to do my part to keep Johns Creek great and explore opportunities to make it even better.

The primary reason I am running for City Council Post 2 is to to improve the effectiveness of a city government that is focused on protecting and enhancing our schools, our public safety, and our home values.

For the past ten years I have been extensively involved in city issues, including zoning, parks, traffic, public safety, and taxes, and have offered my expertise as a member of the public.  This input has been well received and accepted by city staff, City Council, and the public.  By being on Council, I will be able to contribute more directly my experience and knowledge, and help even more.

The change in City Manager offers the opportunity to apply my executive and senior project management experience to improve our management of TSPLOST and Parks bond projects, our budget preparation and control, and our community engagement efforts.  This will ensure that our large backlog of projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet community expectations.

To continue my proven efforts of government efficiency/ fiscal responsibility, traffic congestion relief measures, and preserving the residential quality of life. I think my accomplishments have benefited the city in observed financial and traffic improvements with the added benefit of a consistent zoning record (the list isn’t exhaustive, but some highlights - (on my website, under accomplishments).

I was motivated to run because this election is an opportunity to present new voices who can change the current course of the City Council and I have the skills, work ethic, and professional experience to advocate successfully for our community.

I am running for Johns Creek City Council to represent and serve the residents of Johns Creek. I want to be the voice of the residents on the Council.  Too often, residents, offer public comment, make phone calls, and/or share their opinions through email, but those comments are not being heard. I want the residents of Johns Creek to not only know that they are being heard but they have a say in the decisions that are being made.

I am a long-time resident of Johns Creek. I have lived in and around Johns Creek for almost 30 years. I am fortunate to live near my parents who are also long-time residents of Johns Creek. I am grateful for the opportunity to raise my two amazing children here where they have been able to grow up in excellent schools, surrounded by a supportive community, and in a beautiful, safe environment.  I want to give something back to this community.

I am committed in my desire to be a true representative of the residents of Johns Creek.

    Judy LeFave

I have been actively involved with the City of Johns Creek for more than five years.  In that time, I have diligently worked to get a bill successfully passed into law for the State of Georgia.  I want to bring the extensive knowledge I gained through that process back to the City and work for every citizen in Johns Creek. Serving as President of the Johns Creek Community Association prior to being appointed to the Johns Creek Planning Commission in 2017, I have used my wide-ranging knowledge of the zoning process to make recommendations to City Council. This experience has deepened my understanding of the City’s processes in the day-to-day governing.

Why wouldn't a candidate respond to a simple question like,"What is the primary reason you have chosen to seek election (or re-election) to the Johns Creek City Council?" I mean you want to tell voters a little about yourself, wouldn't you? ....that is unless you have something to hide?!

A voter interested in this election

The question posed of the candidates was “What is the reason you are running for City Council?” Mrs. Elwood wants to change the course of the current council. Mrs. Yang wants to be the voice of those who don’t feel like they are being heard. Mr. Coughlin believes he has done a good job on Council and wants to continue the way he has been serving. Mr. Reinecke wants to improve the effectiveness of our city government while protecting and enhancing our schools, our public safety, and our home values.

Mr. Weaver, Mr. Tunki, and Mrs. LeFave have not stated any specific goal they wish to accomplish other than being in government. Mr. Thomas, Mr. Altom, and Mrs. Cooper have declined to answer so we have no idea of why they are running or what they hope to accomplish on Council.
