In late April, WSB TV news (Atlanta) reported on a new initiative to stop corporate landlords from buying Georgia homes, resulting in driving up home prices and destabilizing neighborhoods, they say.

The focus particularly was on metro Atlanta.

"They call it the ETCT campaign," says the news reporter. "End The Corporate Takeover."

Organizers said that one-third of single home rentals were now owned by corporations.

They also allege that first-time buyers are pushed out of that market due to increased corporate landlord activity.

The organizers are lobbying for state laws to be passed to limit or even ban corporate landlords in Georgia.

The Georgia Record was relaunched in June of 2021 and has been extremely successful fighting corruption in the state named after King George of England. The original paper was started in 1899 and published into the early 20th century. In 2020, CDM (Creative Destruction Media) acquired Johns Creek Post and brought back The Georgia Record to better represent the state rather than just Johns Creek News.
