IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back in 2019, WSAV TV news (Savannah, GA) reported on a 13-foot alligator found in southwest Georgia in Sumter County, west of I-75 and southeast of Columbus.

The alligator was found in an irrigation ditch and had been there for about a week.

The circumference was 57 inches around the alligator's chest, and the animal was between 700-750 pounds. Initially, the alligator was though to be over 50 years old.

The alligator was thought to be in poor condition and possibly dying. So, the alligator was euthanized.

The alligator had previous injuries including gunshot wounds.

The Georgia Record was relaunched in June of 2021 and has been extremely successful fighting corruption in the state named after King George of England. The original paper was started in 1899 and published into the early 20th century. In 2020, CDM (Creative Destruction Media) acquired Johns Creek Post and brought back The Georgia Record to better represent the state rather than just Johns Creek News.
