The recent Georgia GOP convention was a sh*t show of corruption. The Frost Family, Georgia's Ponzi power brokers, aligned with GA GOP Chair Josh McKoon, ran roughshod over the grassroots, GOP bylaws, and morality.
Georgia's citizens pushed back, with many charging back their convention dues with their credit card companies for fraudulent transactions.
This angered the GA GOP establishment matrix which is striking back with a resolution put forward by Colquitt County GOP Chair Dennis Futch to expel and ban from the GA GOP those who dared to confront the GA Republican power machine.
The resolution explicitly names former GA GOP Vice Chair David Cross to be permanently banned from the party.
The AJC's Greg Bluestein asked David Cross to respond to the resolution by Futch.
You can read the reply by Cross below:
It’s funny that it begins with “whereas the Georgia Republican Party depends upon the honesty, integrity, and financial responsibility of its members officers delegate yada yada yada” but we are still dealing with the Frost family $140 million Ponzi scheme and Josh McKoon’s inability to have the Frost family take a hiatus from their leadership positions in the party because he’s too busy praying with them. Josh also accepted $4,050 from their family in 2018 and still has not given that money over to the receiver.
I also think it’s ridiculous to say that “certain individuals, fraudulently initiated chargeback, reversal, or payment disputes with the credit card issues” because what we attended was not a convention but political theater with a predetermined outcome. Hundreds of delegates and Republicans statewide signed a petition asking for a recall of that Election because they knew it was rigged regardless of the RNC decision to uphold the election - the RNC committee never contacted a single one of my affiants or witness to the convention.
The fourth whereas, “such actions constitute false representation, attempted theft, and material fraud” is simply a way to scare people into submission. People would not have asked for their money back if they felt like they had attended a legitimate convention and election.
The fifth whereas asserts that “delegates have an ethical and fiduciary duty” to the party is backwards. The leadership of the party has a fiduciary duty to the delegates.
In the sixth, whereas, Mr. Futch says that “credible information has established that David Cross directed, advised, and instructed certain individuals to fraudulently dispute or chargeback valid charges made to the GOP” that is simply not true. I wrote an email to my list of Republicans, letting them know what other people had done to receive their convention fees back. I was simply reporting what had already happened. Republicans don’t take instructions from me nor do I give people instructions or direct them what to do. I believe in the free will of each person to make their own choices. I’m not a dictator or a king telling people what to do.
In the seventh, whereas I’m accused of “willful inducement to commit fraud and an intentional conspiracy to deprive the Georgia Republican Party of funds lawfully owed”. Those are strong words. I may have to sue Mr. Futch for libel on this one.
The last whereas says that “the Georgia Republican Party has both a legal and moral obligation to preserve the integrity of its financial operations, and to ensure that those who commit or direct fraudulent activity are permanently removed from positions of trust or influence”. That one is rich, considering that Mr. McKoon used the Georgia GOP credit card a dozen times for personal purchases. To this day we still do not have documentation that he has reimbursed the party and notified law-enforcement as required by the rules of the Federal Election Commission.
If Mr. Futch wants to permanently remove people from positions of trust or influence that violated the integrity of the financial operations he need to look no further than Josh McKoon, chairman of Georgia Republican Party for using the GAGOP credit card a dozen times for personal purchases.
Lastly, I don’t believe that Josh McKoon paid his delegate fees for the 2025 convention.
