Last week, Fox 5 (Atlanta) reported that a former 18-year-old minor league Atlanta Braves player faces vehicular homicide charges in Florida.
He is accused of causing a crash on I-75 south of Tampa, heading southbound. This led to a truck flipping on its side and the death of the truck driver, a father of four.
The accused was also charged with leaving the scene of a deadly crash.
The baseball player fled the scene, and the car was later found at the Braves facility in Venice, Florida. He entered a "not guilty" plea.
"I'm sad, and I'm mad," said the truck driver's widow. "The whole situation could have been prevented."
She said to Fox 5 Atlanta that her husband was her best friend and now he's gone.
