Since 2020 some patients have expressed concerns regarding REMDESIVIR. In some cases before accepting certain treaments they are asking providers if the medication the provider is administering is REMDESIVIR and the providers in at least some cases are saying no, it is VEKLURY.

But hold on, VEKLURY is a brand name for.....you guessed it, REMDESIVIR.

The Website for Veklury lists the medication as REMDESIVIR in the upper right corner of the front page. Why then do some providers apparently fair to explain that VEKLURY is the same medication, simply offered under a brand name? We don't know. But we believe patients should be given full information and be able to make logical fact-based decisions about their treatment and medical providers should provide full complete disclosure of the medications proposed and their generic and branded associations.
