WRDW News 12 in Augusta, GA reported that a giant, inflatable colon was installed at an entrance to Doctors Hospital in the city for people to walk through.
The installation and event were done to raise awareness of colon cancer.
A display showed a selection of well-known people that were diagnosed with colon cancer, including Ronald Reagan, Sharon Osbourne, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Morgan Freeman.
Doctor Chris Carlson said, "I'd just encourage eveyone to get a screening. It's easy. It's not hard to do."
The news presenter said that the screening age has been lowered to 45 years old. But if having a first-degree relative with a history of cancer, one should consult their doctor about possibly getting screened before then.
