After the State Republican Convention was held at the beginning of June, many delegates (and citizens) expressed deep concern about the Convention processes which in a number of cases seemed to be inconsistent with GOP and Convention rules, and in direct opposition to previously held standards for Georgia GOP Conventions.
Formal concerns and complaints were filed with the State GOP (which have been largely ignored) and subsequently with Michael Whatley and the Republican National Committee. The Georgia Record is additionally aware that delegates from the GA State Convention gave documents containing these concerns personally to Michael Whatley during recent a Faith and Freedom event in Wash DC.
Now comes word that Whatley attended a lunch with Josh McKoon, Alex Kaufmann, Dennis Futch and others yesterday at the Blue Ridge Grill in Atlanta.
Why would a leader of the RNC, who has been made aware of the concerns and dynamics well documented surrounding the GA GOP Convention, choose to meet with Josh McKoon and the attorney for the GOP Alex Kaufmann, (and others) in the midst of what should be a serious investigation? The question raises serious concerns about Whatley's intent and motivations.
The Georgia Record believes the delegates and GOP members might gain additional information by reviewing others included in the meeting and invites readers to review the picture above and identify the gentlemen seated at the far left and far right in the picture.
