Georgia citizens will have the chance to both hear from and provide feedback to Georgia's Republican Committeewoman, Amy Kremer this evening in Marietta at the Marietta Fish Market, 3185 Canton Hywy.
Many attendees to the GOP State Convention in June have expressed serious concerns about the standards, communications and processes used during the convention.
A formal complaint regarding the Convention was filed with the RNC in June and Chairman, Michael Whatley was personally given documents detailling some of the issues while attending a Faith and Freedom event in Washington DC.
Whatley has previously stated that the complaints were under review by the RNC "Dispute Committee."
Unlike previous conventions, attendees cited the lack of input on selection of a Convention Chair, convention rules which were implemented in spite of attempts to speak in order to amend the rules, along with the inability to communicate due to microphones being blocked.
As one example, despite calls for hand-marked hand-counted paper ballots, a pre-written rule quietly mandated the use of elecrtonic "clickers" to cast votes - a method that excludes the ability to validate or audit results.
Many believe that these actions were taken with the knowledge of, and likely at the direction of, party Chairman Josh McKoon.
McKoon has failed to address these concerns and has been nearly silent on GOP issues following the closing of First Liberty Building and Loan, run by members of the Frost family, many of whom were also present and observed manipulating microphone access and other operations during the State Convention.
First Liberty and Brant Frost IV have been charged in an SEC filing citing a $140MM Ponzi scheme which they say bilked money from GOP members and Christian followers among others. The investigation is now said to span 38 states.
The RNC will hold a meeting in Atlanta next week and Ms. Kremer's Listening Tour is designed allow Georgian's voices to be heard before and during that event.
