WRDW TV news (channel 12) in Augusta reported that the 18-year-old man who ran towards the US Capitol in Washington, DC with a loaded shotgun was from Smyrna, GA, northwest of Atlanta.

He reportedly had additional rounds on his person.

The suspect now faces multiple charges. At the time of the report, his motive was not known or disclosed.
