Last month, Fox 5 news (Atlanta) reported that a 19-year-old was sentenced to life in prison for the murder at a football game in Spalding County south of Atlanta.
The murder took place in 2023 outside of a football game between Griffin and Spalding high schools. The convicted young man was 17 at the time, and he shot and killed a 14-year-old.
The 19-year-old was accused of opening fire on a group of people and then going on the run for eight days.
According to news reporter Doug Evans, "Prosecutors [depicted the convicted murderer] in court as a stone-cold killer unremorseful even at trial. He will spend the rest of his life in prison for murder without the possibility of parole."
Acting District Attorney said that this was a gang-related case. "I think jurors are just fed up with it," said Studdard.
