Last month Fox 5 TV news (Atlanta) showed video of a Woodstock man fighting a raccoon in metro Atlanta.
The raccoon bit the man's dog onto the tail and wouldn't let go.
The incident took place in the man's yard on a steep incline. He fell a bit down the hill a couple of times. But he returned to fight the raccoon to try to save his dog.
The man's wife also joined in on the fight. She fell down the hill too.
The man was punching the raccoon and it finally let go.
The dog was taken to the emergency vet and, apart from an injured tail, was fine.
The man, hurting his back and with some cuts, also went to the emergency room and took a series of rabies shots.
At the time of reporting, the raccoon hadn't been seen since.
