WSB-TV news (Atlanta) recently reported that a mother was arrested after investigator found her hungry child had been eating roaches and ants. The one-year-old later died.
The incidents occurred in Douglasville, west of Atlanta.
The mother appeared in court. She had her bond revoked due to another alleged, previous offense: assaulting one of her older children.
A detective testified that her children lived in "horrible conditions".
The mother is set to appear at trial in the previous case later in the year. She was also indicted recently regarding a second case with five counts of second-degree child cruelty. Regarding the death of the one-year old child, that investigation continues.
