Last month, the far left city council of Brookhaven, GA in Metro Atlanta announced a property tax jump of 40% and residents were furious.

The room was filled to capacity, reported the Fox 5 (Atlanta) news presenter.

One imagines that property values have dropped.

"Read the room," said one resident at the podium.

The Fox 5 news reporter said that residents told him that a 40% increase is the last thing they need.

The far left city council ignored resident concerns and voted unanimously for the increase.

Another resident said, "We just don't trust the city manager and his group."

Residents also pointed to tax deals offered to certain organizations.
