An enhanced immigration enforcement operation throughout Georgia has resulted in the arrest of 1,226 illegal alien offenders, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced. The operation, titled "Operation Safe Community – Atlanta," targeted illegal aliens with criminal histories including sex crimes, crimes against children, aggravated assault, drug crimes, weapons offenses, and more.

Of the 1,226 illegal aliens arrested, 720 have either been convicted of or charged with crimes in the United States. Speaking on Fox & Friends, Marcos Charles, executive associate director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, said the sweep removed violent criminals directly from Georgia communities. "We arrested over 1,200 aliens, illegal aliens, out in the Atlanta, Georgia area. More than half of those people had criminal histories," Charles said.

"Our officers did what they do best: they arrested and removed dangerous criminal offenders from American communities," said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Acting Assistant Director Patricia Hyde. "Every one of the illegal alien offenders apprehended during this operation was in violation of U.S. immigration law, but more than 700 of the aliens we arrested also have criminal histories in the United States. Removing these criminal alien offenders from Georgia neighborhoods makes for much safer communities."

ICE officers also arrested five illegal aliens at the address of a trucking company known for employing illegal aliens. The White House highlighted the operation, calling it "another massive ICE illegal alien bust in Atlanta — keeping Americans safe and getting criminal illegal aliens off of our streets."

    Governor Kemp Silent — Again

As of publication, Governor Brian Kemp has issued no statement responding to the operation or acknowledging the 1,226 arrests of criminal illegal aliens in his state. His silence is consistent with a pattern Georgia Record has documented for years. Kemp has repeatedly chosen business interests over victims — most recently in 2025, when he pushed tort reform legislation that would have made it significantly harder for sex trafficking survivors to sue the hotels and businesses where they were exploited. Women who were trafficked and raped at Georgia hotels appeared before lawmakers and begged them to oppose the bill. Kemp pushed it anyway.

The Georgia Record has reached out to the Governor's office for comment. No response was received.

The Georgia Record was relaunched in June of 2021 and has been extremely successful fighting corruption in the state named after King George of England. The original paper was started in 1899 and published into the early 20th century. In 2020, CDM (Creative Destruction Media) acquired Johns Creek Post and brought back The Georgia Record to better represent the state rather than just Johns Creek News.

It sounds to me as though Gov. Kemp believes he is within the Law and feels no need to explain his every inaction. Actually...explaining everything you DID NOT do sounds exhausting! When was the last time someone asked YOU to explain everything you didn't do? My suggestion would be to just shut up about it unless you've got some sort of legal charge to make. The Governor has ensured our Right to legal Constitutional carry. That alone entitles him to two terms and my moral support!
