It’s almost time for Falcons football. The Atlanta Falcons will open their home season on September 20 when they host the Carolina Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1pm ET on FOX. It’s going to be one of the most compelling home openers in recent franchise history.

The 2026 season is here for the Falcons and it is going to be an exciting new chapter for the franchise. The team is looking to get off to a good start as they prepare for the season with a tough quarterback competition between Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa along with a new coaching staff. The Falcons finished the 2025 season with an 8-9 record and they are looking to prove to the NFL that they are a better team than what their record showed for last season.

The Panthers were NFC South Champions last season and will be looking to get off to a good start in this game. The home opener for the Falcons in Week 2 will be a must-win game for the team to set up the rest of their season. Following this game, the Falcons have a very difficult schedule, starting with a Thursday Night Football game at Green Bay in Week 3, followed by a Monday Night Football game at New Orleans in Week 4. The Falcons return to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Week 5 for a Sunday Night Football game against the visiting Baltimore Ravens.

Tickets to the game are available on the Falcons official website as well as through StubHub. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is located at 1 AMB Drive NW, Atlanta. Gates to Mercedes-Benz Stadium will open approximately 1 1/2 hours prior to kickoff.

The Georgia Record was relaunched in June of 2021 and has been extremely successful fighting corruption in the state named after King George of England. The original paper was started in 1899 and published into the early 20th century. In 2020, CDM (Creative Destruction Media) acquired Johns Creek Post and brought back The Georgia Record to better represent the state rather than just Johns Creek News.
