Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken a side in the fight over Ilhan Omar and it isn’t with the American people.
Greene shared that she and Omar are “far apart policy wise” and then asked, “can someone tell me how pretending to get ready to deport Ilhan Omar is going to bring gas down under $2.”
Note that the ex-GA congresswoman is now apparently trying to posture herself as a defender of the Minnesota congresswoman against the federal investigation into how Omar became a citizen. Homeland Security Investigations agents searched the home of Rep. Ilhan Omar in the Washington area on Oct. 12 under a warrant in connection with alleged immigration fraud and false statements, USA Today reported. The Justice Department has also subpoenaed relatives of the Minnesota congresswoman.
Federal agents are trying to figure out whether Omar or one of her relatives provided false information to gain citizenship through her father’s naturalization. The naturalization of Omar’s father allowed for his minor children, including a 17-year-old Ilhan, to become citizens in 2000. Investigators are trying to determine whether Omar or one of her relatives falsely stated her age to meet the qualifying criteria for citizenship through her father’s naturalization as a child.
Greene has taken the opposite position before. “Today I’m introducing a Censure Resolution on Ilhan Omar for admitting she’s working as a foreign agent for a foreign country. I urge my colleagues to vote to Censure but I wish I had the votes to expel and deport her.”
So by Greene’s own words Omar was working for a foreign country and Greene wished she could deport her. Now federal agents are asking the questions that Greene does not want to be asked regarding how Omar gained citizenship, and Greene’s answer is to call it pretending.
A woman who may have entered this country and served in Congress on false documents. A woman Greene already said was acting as a foreign agent. Greene wants to dismiss this type of case.
It is becoming clearer what Marjorie Taylor Greene is for, and it is not America.
