WATCH: Shots Fired At Unpermitted, Pop-Up Event On Tybee Island

According to Tybee Island Police, around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night, Tybee Island began to experience an unpermitted, pop-up event involving hundreds of people around the pier and pavilion.

During the course of that event, officers heard an undetermined amount of shots fired, and the crowd began to scatter.

After being notified of the situation, a number of off-duty Tybee officers immediately responded to the island to assist.
