A series of shocking violent criminal acts in Savannah, GA over the last week have left residents fearing for their lives, and worried about the safety of their city under Mayor Van Johnson. They feel the gang warfare and wanton disregard for human life is threatening Savannah's way of life.

The three incidents below happened over the last few days:

The Savannah Police Department (SPD) is investigating after a shooting took place on the 10000 block of Abercorn Street Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to the shooting at approximately 2 p.m., where they found an adult man with a gunshot wound, reported WSAV.

The man was transported to Memorial Health for further treatment, but he ultimately died due to his injuries.

The Chatham County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the woman and man killed in back-to-back shootings in Savannah Sunday.

According to Coroner David Campbell, Kimberly Richardson, age 42 was pronounced dead at a local hospital, following a shooting in the 800 block of Portert St. Richardson was shot at least one time, reported WJCL

And Campbell says Lashawn Foster, age 25, was pronounced dead at a local hospital after a shooting on 10000 Abercorn Street Ext. Foster was shot at least one time.

The son of a Savannah alderman was arrested along with a second suspect Wednesday by the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) after the two men were allegedly involved in an armed robbery, booking records show, reported WSAV.

Keshon Leggett, the 21-year-old son of District 2 Alderman Detric Leggett, and 21-year-old Chukyle Robinson, were charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony.

One Savannah resident commented to The Georgia Record, "Saturday my nephews were playing in a travel ball tournament at Ambuc Park (the park with the inclusive playground) on Sallie Mood. About 9:39 pm my nephew was on the field when a gang drove by and started shooting at the playground. My nephew who is 9 has PTSD from that incident and now he never wants to come back to Savannah. I don’t blame him. Gang violence in Savannah is out of control and mayor isn’t doing anything."

"Ambuc park is a new park for disable kids and it is a really neat park and being ruined by gang violence."

Recent comments by Mayor Johnson refusing to uphold Georgia state law on the homeless is indicative of cities run by Democrat politicians, where safety, security, even beauty are subverted by the globalist anarchic agenda.

Violent crime is up 56% over 2025 in Chatham County.
