President Donald Trump is transporting the family of fallen U.S. Army 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan to Georgia aboard Air Force One on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The family, who are from Georgia, accompanied the president following the dignified transfer of Feehan’s remains at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, was killed in action on July 18 during an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. A Southern Utah University alumnus and graduate student nearing completion of his MBA, Feehan was among four U.S. service members killed in the attack, reported Fox News.
In remarks later Wednesday at an event in Marietta, Georgia, Trump paid an emotional tribute to Feehan, noting that he had offered the family—including Feehan’s mother Shari, father Stephen, and uncle David—a ride on Air Force One after learning they were traveling to the state. The family received a standing ovation from the crowd as Trump pointed skyward and said Feehan was “looking down” and “so proud.”
The gesture came as the remains of Feehan and the other fallen service members were returned to the United States. Military officials have described Feehan as a dedicated air defense officer whose service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
