Savannah, GA (Sept. 17, 2025) - WTOC TV News reported that Alderwoman Alicia Blakely is facing sharp criticism for her social media comments about the assassination of the Charlie Kirk.

WTOC showed that Blakely wrote on Facebook, "We know who that poor excuse of a human being was!" Community members have said that she should be removed from her role as a council member.

Savannah Mayor Van Johnson responded and said, "No, no, no!"
