"The Trust for Public Land helps state and local governments design, pass, and implement legislation and ballot measures that create new public funds for parks and land conservation. We’ve helped pass more than 486 ballot measures—an 81 percent success—creating $59 billion in voter approved funding for parks, land conservation and restoration. Every $1 invested in this program has generated more than $2,000 in new public funds."
I was quite curious as to what this group was presenting to the City Council. As I watched the presentation, it became rather clear.
That $1 invested which yields $2,000? That is because the TPL will determine how much you are willing to be taxed, help word the bond referendum just the right way to get you to support it, and according to their presentation, are successful 4 out of 5 times in getting it passed.
So, how much more are you willing to be taxed to support a bond issue for parks on you property tax bill? $10 million? $50 million? More?
Start thinking about it now because TPL will be finding out and letting the COJC just how many more tax dollars they can count on you to pitch in.
Interestingly enough, TPTB are aware that you have an ESPLOST vote, a TSPLOST vote, and at some point a bond vote. And in the middle of summer, we will see what the city does with the millage rates for property taxes.
At what point will you be taxed enough already?
How many more dollars in taxes can you handle?

I watched the videos associated with the E-SPLOST presentation. Maybe someone can explain to Michelle Easley there is this thing called a book. This book concept allows students to learn by reading, not by video clips. And, the book can also be taken home and read so the student is not bound by the walls of the school. Next up, I will explain the white board.
