Medlock Bridge input meeting
Medlock Bridge Rd Input Meeting: Tuesday, April 23 from 7-9 p.m. at Municipal Court, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway. City Staff will present potential concepts. This is "Phase 1" of an unknown number of Phases.

City Staff has yet to release the new potential plans and renders. Instead, they invite the residents to create more traffic and to drive to the Municipal Court to view the plans in person.

This intersection has been under study for several years. Mayor Bodker and certain City Staff have pushed for Thru-U's. That would eliminate left turns from the intersection and as an alternative, force cars to make U-turns and right-hand turns. Data and common sense have shown this solution would not be viable in the long run.

The previous concept of widening Medlock Bridge Rd, to 6 lanes from the River up through to McGinnis Ferry Rd, was highly criticized. It led to a mass opposition by residents and HOA leaders. The uptick in traffic, noise, and removal of subdivision turn lanes were the top reasons cited.

Official statement from City Hall

Written on April 1st, and released & publicized a week later:

The community is invited to a public input meeting for Phase 1 of the Medlock Bridge Road (S.R.141) at State Bridge Road intersection improvements on Tuesday, April 23 from 7-9 p.m. at Municipal Court, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway.

The meeting will review potential concepts for the intersection, which include extending six-lanes north of the Medlock Bridge/State Bridge Road intersection to St Ives Country Club Parkway/Grove Point Road, as well as extending a six-lane section west along State Bridge Road to Johns Creek High School.

The project incorporates minimal pavement additions and focuses on restriping the existing road. This phased approach to the overall intersection improvement project is being considered to accommodate potential future intersection design changes/updates.

Why is there no discussion regarding the governing body of both of these roads being Ga DOT control and not City of Johns Creek. It would be appropriate to note that the city has comment only and not control.
