In 2023, our Georgia Record reporter Bill Quinn wrote a story that the voter registration system in Georgia called GARVIS wasn't working as advertised. The system was turned over to the cloud with Salesforce by GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger via a bidding process that many GA election analysts have said was illegal.
Now comes word, after more than a year, that the system is not functioning properly, and according to Zach Manifold, Election Supervisor for Gwinnett County, “It's just not in a good place.” reported Quinn at the time.
Manifold's comments also hint that other Counties have been seeing the same problems to varying degrees, which brings up the question why has this not been reported by other Counties since the problem was identified in February of this year. Why are we learning about it four months later?
Now complaints are coming out of Pooler, GA during early voting in this cycle, that when providing their driver's license to the clerk, voters are coming up in the system with different images and identities.
When a Caucasian women presented her license recently in Pooler, the clerk said she was not in the system. Her license turned up someone else.
"It's not you," said the clerk. "Not unless you are Black or Asian."
The woman in question disputed the situation, saying she had been registered to vote since 1984 and lived at the same address for 23 years. In the end, she was not allowed to vote and had to reregister.
At CDM, we have a presence across the country in multiple states, and see this issue popping up in multiple areas. For instance, in Connecticut, the issue of illegal aliens and identities associated with driver's license numbers has been highlighted by the recent death of an off-duty cop and his girlfriend via an illegal drunk driver.
Governor Lamont of Connecticut denied illegals are voting with false identities.
This situation in Georgia makes that phenomenon worth an investigation into how this could have happened in Pooler.
What made this recent incident even worse was that the woman was not allowed to vote a provisional ballot either.
